Free Initial Consultation
Crawford Law Office offers a free initial consultation to our prospective clients in divorce and other family law and civil litigation matters. The free initial consultation for legal representation can take place over the telephone or in person. During the free initial consultation, we will answer the questions you have about your case, review your goals, and explain to you how the legal process works. Our goal is for you to feel reassured, more confident, more informed and less overwhelmed by the legal process ahead of you.
Retainer for Legal Services
Our retainer fee for legal representation varies depending on the court costs, issues and complexity of your case. The retainer fee is placed in our client trust account, from which we make a payment for services rendered each month. We send you a detailed and itemized billing statement for all work performed on your behalf each month. If any portion of the retainer is unused when your case is closed with our firm, we will refund that amount to you. If your retainer is depleted and there is still work to be performed on your case, you are responsible for making payments to our firm. Crawford Law Office accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard, and Discover credit cards in addition to check, cash, or money order.
Legal Fees and Rate
In pricing our legal services, our firm focuses on the client's needs and goals and offers flexible payment plans to achieve those ends. Typically our clients are billed at an hourly rate. However, we also accept a select number of divorce and other family law and civil litigation matters on a on a flat-fee or even a reduced fee basis depending upon the type of case. When appropriate or warranted by law, we will seek to have the opposing party reimburse you for your attorney fees. Our firm accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit cards in addition to check, cash, or money order.
Philosophy
We understand that this is often a difficult time for our clients not only emotionally, but also financially. As such, we do our best to allow our clients to control their fees by actively participating in the preparation of their case. It is important to routinely perform a cost-benefit analysis during this process by considering how much a certain action taken on your case will cost versus the potential benefit of the outcome. We explain strategic decisions to our clients from both a legal and a financial perspective to enable them to make informed decisions during the legal process.
